Gourley & Feddersen at Sonas

Kick off your St. Patrick’s month celebrations with some fantastic Irish fiddling by Nathan Gourley and Laura Feddersen, joined by Baltimore keyboard superstar Matt Mulqueen. For this show, SFMS teams up with Sonas Sessions, a new house concert series in Carlisle, PA from the folks who bring you the Carlisle Irish Session.

Nathan Gourley and Laura Feddersen are an Irish fiddle duo hailing from Boston, Massachusetts. Their playing is steeped in lifelong study of the Irish musical tradition, and is at the same time colored by their American roots.

The pair have a unique style of twin fiddling, sometimes playing in taut unison, sometimes exploring chordal harmonies and rhythmic and melodic variations. Nathan’s thoughtful and intense guitar playing adds another dimension to their music. Their recordings are chock-full of tunes you’ll hear regularly in Irish sessions (though sometimes in different keys) plus plenty of lovely tunes you’ll be adding to your learning list!

Laura and Nathan each perform and teach regularly both at home in Boston and at festivals throughout the US and Ireland.
