Crasdant at York Country Day
The Welsh band Crasdant introduced the students of York Country Day school to the music and dance of Wales, during their visit to our area in October 2006. The band's visit was part of a 3-week tour of the United States.
Welsh traditional dance is similar to Appalachian clogging and Irish step dancing. Crasdant member Huw Williams taught the students some basic steps, or "feats", with lively accompaniment by the band.
Second-grader Annie Heath is introduced to the Welsh Triple Harp. Robin Huw Bowen, with his ensemble, has made a life's work of introducing people of all ages to the traditional music, instruments, and dance of Wales.
