Volunteer Appreciation Picnic

We kicked off our season with a special Volunteer Thank You on September 30, 2007. The Fort Hunter Barn was all decked out with festive autumn decorations. A variety of hand-painted pumpkins greeted the 25 volunteers who attended.

The food was SUPER! A special thank you to all the Susquehanna Folk chefs who worked on the menu. We had a great salad and fresh baked bread prepared by Joan Kolka... Lasagna (both meat and cheese) prepared by Paulette Matthews and Jess Hayden... fresh fruit salad prepared by Russ Matthews... an autumn punch bowl, and our first taste of the new Wegmen's baking abilities with two types of bread and a fantastic cake. Everything was served in style by our two charming servers, Emily Matthews and Katrina Siddiqui.

After a great meal, we enjoyed a fantastic performance by Russ Rentler. Russ brought an assortment of the many instruments he uses, as well as his very entertaining stories. Humor and good music abounded. And naturally, signup sheets were available!
