American Masterpieces: Three Centuries of Artistic Genius is a major initiative to acquaint Americans with the best of their cultural and artistic legacy. It is a program of the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art.
SFMS is pleased to present Kumovi Croatian Folk Ensemble of Pittsburgh in concert at Whitaker Center's Sunoco Performance Theater. The 36 tamburasi represent the best and brightest from Western Pennsylvania, under the direction of master choreographer Zeljko Jergan.
Tickets for the concert also include admission to the after-party at the St. Lawrence Club of Steelton, where the Kumovi orchestra will play for recreational dancing — joined on the dance floor by inspired members of the ensemble. The audience is welcome to come dance with the stars, otherwise known as "Come kolo if you can!"

About Kumovi Ensemble
Organized in 1999, Kumovi Ensemble made their first public appearance at the Croatian Fraternal Union festival in Las Vegas, Nevada in November, 2000. The aim of the group is to preserve and perpetuate the customs and traditions associated with Croatian folklore through music, song and dance. The 36-member ensemble ranges in age from 20 to 73. Warm and fun-loving, their performances are a true gift of love from the heart.
