SFMS is partnering once again with the Oyster Mill Playhouse in a special performance of Curtains: The Musical!
It's the brassy, bright and promising year of 1959. Boston's Colonial Theatre is host to the opening night performance of a new musical. When the leading lady mysteriously dies on stage, the entire cast and crew are suspects. Enter a local detective, who just happens to be a musical theatre fan! A hilarious journey for both performers and the audience, the original Broadway production garnered eight nominations at the 2007 Tony Awards, including Best Musical. Content note: simulated violence.
This performance is a benefit for the Susquehanna Folk Music Society, and will feature some additional festivities along with the play itself.
The play is directed by Ryan Dean Schoening with Assistant Director Dawn-Michelle Lewis. It's based on a book by Rupert Holmes, with music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb, and additional lyrics by Kander and Holmes.
