Susquehanna Folk provides folk entertainment as part of the annual Fort Hunter Day festivities on Sunday, September 20, 2009. This annual autumn festival has tons of activities for all ages. Children's crafts and games, pony, hay and carriage rides, live music, a terrific craft show and sale, food and quilt display are only part of the many things to do. With Front Street closed down, visitors really get a sense of the area before the automobile. This year's festival features entertainment from the Civil War era and a visit from Abraham Lincoln.

10-11:45 Susquehanna Folk Music Society Jam: Bring an instrument, join us in song or lend a listening ear! Musicians from the Susquehanna Folk Music Society will entertain with an array of fun old-time folk songs.

12-12:45 Songs and Stories of the Civil War with Matthew Dodd: Dressed in period soldier's clothing, Matthew Dodd takes listeners back in time to feel what it was like to be a Yankee soldier during the Civil War. Through period songs, excerpts from actual letters, and anecdotes Matthew evokes the feelings and passions of those brave men fighting to preserve the Union.

12:50-1:35 Old-Time Songs and Fiddle Tunes with Matt Brown: Ranging from Civil War era dance tunes to haunting banjo pieces, blues, and traditional ballads, much of Matt Brown's repertoire comes from musicians who recorded in the 1920s and 1930s, helped by field recordings made by collectors such as Alan Lomax, John Cohen, and Mike Seeger.

1:40-2:25 Civil War Era Minstrel Music with the Camptown Shakers: The popular music of mid-19th century America comes back to life as the Camptown Shakers perform on early 5-string banjo, fiddle, bones, and tambourine. Their music is composed of songs, banjo jigs, and fiddle tunes from the 1840s through 1865. They can be seen performing at reenactments, living history presentations, period dances, and other events. The Camptown Shakers are Dave Culgan (banjo & vocals), Renny Allgyer (fiddle & vocals) and King Bennett (percussion & vocals).
