About SFMS

Organizational Structure

From a modest beginning in 1985, SFMS has become a major arts presenter in the South Central Pennsylvania area. SFMS continues to grow and evolve, expanding into new venues and bringing folk traditions to ever-larger audiences in our region.

But true to its roots, SFMS remains a volunteer-driven, grass-roots organization. All of our programming is made possible through the energy, dedication, and vision of our volunteers.

Board of Directors

The Susquehanna Folk Music Society is led by a 13-member Board of Directors, made up of volunteers serving three-year terms.

Committees

The Board is organized into committees, which also include non-Board members. Committees are responsible for Resource Development, the annual Special Event, Finance, Strategic Planning, Nominating, Programming, Arts And Education, Concerts and Marketing.

Administration

In addition to the Board, SFMS's leadership team also includes a part-time executive director, a graphic-design/website consultant, and an intern to assist with administrative duties.

And a Host of Volunteers

Without our volunteers, none of our events would happen. Stages would be silent, chairs folded up, dance floors dark and quiet. We are so grateful to the friendly and dedicated people who put the ‘folk’ in folk music!
