Frolic in the Fall
The Fourth Annual Frolic in the Fall will be held Saturday, September 25, 2010 from 11am to 11pm. Featuring an HOUR LONG dance medley -- can you dance for an HOUR?
Location is at YWCA Camp Reily, a 5-acre camp where we dance in a rustic lodge with a wood floor, surrounded by nature in the Appalachian Mountains. The camp is just 5 miles outside Harrisburg, PA, off Fishing Creek Valley Road.
Ron Buchanan (western PA) and Dave Colestock (Harrisburg) call to music by Wildcat (North Carolina: Laurie Fisher of the String Beings, Karen Gaughen and Nic Coker) and The Contra Rebels (Southern PA: Todd Clewell, Henry Koretzky and Bruce Campbell).
The Frolic starts with an hour of waltzing from 11-12, then Contra Dancing from Noon-11pm. You may know that Ron calls wonderful energetic squares enjoyed by contra dancers just about everywhere he calls, and he may call a few at the Frolic this year. There will be an HOUR LONG NON-STOP Dance Medley, at about 4:30, followed by the world's best Pot Luck dinner (last name A-M, dessert or side dish; N-Z main dish, please).
Dance at the Locust Lane Contra Dance on Friday 9/24/10 (see www.harrisburgcontra.org for info and directions), then stay over at a local motel, B&B, or camp nearby at Riverfront Campground, about 10 minutes from the Frolic.
Cost is still just $25/person, limited to about 100 dancers. Advance registration highly encouraged; walk-ins accepted till limit reached. Visit the Frolic's website to download a registration form, and snail-mail by 9/18/10, please. For more info, email Fallfrolic (at) yahoo.com
Tell all of your friends -- spread the word about the Frolic!
