PROXY BIDDING FOR FEATURED ITEMS

For those unable to attend the Birthday Bash, we will accept proxy bids for our three featured items (the Berkshire Getaway and the two festivals) as follows:

  • Auction items are listed with a minimum starting bid; all have a minimum increment of $50.
  • Bids must be written as an email to concerts@sfmsfolk.org. If you do not have an email address, please ask a friend to submit on your behalf and have him/her include your phone number in the email.
  • Please identify the item and specify your maximum bid.
  • If we have only one proxy bid (yours) for an item, we will automatically open bids at the minimum listed amount, in your name.
  • If we have two or more proxy bids for the same item, we will automatically open the auction with the HIGHEST proxy bidder outbidding all other proxies. His/her bid is equal to the competitor's maximum + $50
  • Bidding will continue throughout the evening, based on audience participation.
  • Approximately 10 minutes before the end of the auction, we will look at then-current high bid (if other than yourself). If your maximum is higher by $50 or more, we will place a final bid for you, equal to the then-current amount + $50.
  • Audience at the event will still have another ten minutes to outbid the proxy.

Birthday Bash attendees do have a strategic advantage, so we encourage all bidders to attend!
