Jam Sessions

are paused for a while.

About This Event:

Montage of photos from a Susquehanna Folk jam in 2019. TOP LEFT: a bearded young man playing fiddle, with guitar and mandolin players in the background. TOP RIGHT: a gray-haired man playing pennywhistle. CENTER: accordion player, banjo player and guitarist, all older people. BOTTOM: wide-angle shot showing 16+ folk musicians sitting in a large oval, filling the room at Fort Hunter. They're playing a variety of instruments, including guitars, banjos, and a hammered dulcimer.

When it is safe to gather again, we will resume our monthly Jam Sessions. In the meantime, when you're playing at home, watching tutorials on YouTube, or singing with your family (or in the shower!), know that there's a whole community of folks doing the same thing. We're together in spirit!

If you have found a great way of sharing music virtually, would you share it with us? Whether it's a new platform or an offer to lead a regular online gathering, we'd love to hear about it.

We get all kinds of instruments at SFMS jams. This 2019 video features fiddler Chad Snyder playing "Danny Boy" along with Daniel T Worley on... a saw!

Jams are on hiatus

We hope not for too much longer! We sure do miss getting together.
