About This Event:

We are so thrilled to collaborate with The West Shore Theatre to bring you Central PA’s newest monthly Open Mic Night, hosted by some of our favorite area musicians and Susquehanna Folk friends. We can’t wait to see you take center stage in one of the most beautiful venues in the area.

WITH YOUR HOST...

Your host for December is Joe Cooney, a busy performer on the Central PA acoustic music scene and also the emcee for our Coffeehouse series. He credits SFMS with introducing him to the fun of folk music!

AND YOUR FRIENDS!

Meeting up with a group? Consider a booth or table! Special seating can be purchased through the box office, either online (links below) or at the theatre. The online ticket page includes a handy seating map.

Standard seating is FREE and unreserved, and these are typical theater seats: rising rows of upholstered seats that fold. High-top tables are $12 and seat 2. These have a great view, as they are on a platform above and behind the standard seats, with the concession area behind them. Booths are $25 and seat 4 to 6, great for chatting with friends. Booths line both side walls of the house.

The theatre boasts a full movie style concession stand featuring popcorn, candy, nachos, bagged snacks, sodas, water, lemonade, iced tea, and beer and wine sold by Appalachian Brewing Company. Your purchases support this lovely venue.

YOU MIGHT BE WONDERING...

What musical styles are welcome?

We welcome a diversity of musical styles, originals and covers, and poetry too. We love to hear folks make music.

How long will each artist play?

That will always be a little fluid depending on how many folks sign up, but we suggest planning for a 10 minute set — think two songs and maybe another as backup.

How do I sign up? and when should I arrive?

Be there when doors open at 6:15, find our host and put your name on the list! There are only 8 spots starting out, and they could go fast, so arrive early to sign up.

What's the sound setup?

Our expert sound crew will be ready to amplify you, or your band, with 3 microphones and 3 direct inputs.

Are all instruments welcome? Do I need to bring my own?

All instruments are welcome as long as they can be moved on and off stage quickly. We can accommodate light percussion such as hand drums or cajons, but not full drum sets. There will be no backline provided, so bring whatever instruments you need.

Can my whole band play?

Yes! In the interest of speedy turn-around between acts, we recommend keeping it simple.

How do I get there? Where do I park?

Two parking lots are located within a few hundred yards of the theatre, and on-street parking is also available. Visit the theatre's website for a parking map and directions.

FREE Admission!

Donations to defray costs are always welcome.
