The Susquehanna Folk Festival’s weekend of dance kicks off with caller Bob Nicholson and live music by The Contra Rebels. A workshop for beginners is included with admission, so no experience is required!

The Contra Rebels

The Contra Rebels is an old-time southern-style band featuring York County fiddlers Todd Clewell and Barb Schmid and Harrisburg’s own Henry Koretzky on guitar and mandolin. The group has been a fixture on Central PA’s music scene for decades, and plays for dances from New York to Georgia.

Bob Nicholson

Bob is a veteran caller from Syracuse, NY. He’s totally focused on fun, accessible dances. His dance repertoire is deep and his memory is amazing. The Wilkes-Barre Times Leader says, “He has a gift for teaching beginners how to engage in this gentle but lively, traditional form of dancing.”
