Come to Mt Gretna before the Tuba Skinny show to learn new swing dance moves or polish the ones you know. Carla Crowen of The Rhythm Lounge will be teaching this fun social dance for all levels: experienced dancers at 5pm, beginners at 6pm. Carla will have you dancing in the aisles in no time.

• 4:45 - 5:00 - Registration open
• 5:00 - 5:45 - Intermediate Lindy Hop Jazzy Combos for experienced dancers
• 6:00 - 6:45 - Swing Basics
• 6:45 - 7:15 - social dancing and practice time
• 7:15 - 7:30 - head over to the Tuba Skinny concert (if you already have your concert ticket)

Classes will be held at the Hall of Philosophy, which is near the Playhouse.

The Rhythm Lounge is a local collective with the goal of bringing you some of the best dance instructors, choreographers, and genuinely fun & kind people to help improve your experience on the dance floor. Carla Crowen, its creator and director, has been teaching Lindy Hop and other forms of vintage swing dancing for over 20 years.

Grounded in the rhythms of traditional New Orleans jazz, Tuba Skinny has expanded their repertoire to include jug band tunes, spirituals, country blues, string band melodies, ragtime, and New Orleans R&B. The band’s music embodies the essence of Americana, weaving together early 20th-century influences while paying homage to the city that serves as their muse. Every note echoes the sounds of New Orleans’ streets, from its bustling brass bands to its soulful blues singers.
