Kristyn Harris, a singer, guitarist and champion yodeler, was scheduled to perform for SFMS last year with fiddler Hailey Sandoz. But a few months before the concert, Kristyn called us and said, "You'll never believe this, but I’ve been asked to audition for American Idol!" Since her commitment to the show necessitated that she clear her schedule, we postponed the concert. After she won over the American Idol judges with her small-town charm and big, beautiful voice, we were excited to be able to reschedule the concert!

Kristyn Harris

Kristyn Harris is noted for her shimmering vocals, swing rhythm guitar, unique songwriting and captivating stage presence. She has earned the 2017 Ameripolitan Western Swing Female Artist of the Year, 2016 Western Music Association (WMA) Entertainer of the Year and 2014-15 WMA Female Performer of the Year to name a few. She's also an avid horsewoman and manages a small herd of black angus cattle. both of which provide plenty of inspiration for her songs.

Hailey Sandoz

Hailey Sandoz is known for her exciting fiddling, charming personality, jazzy vocals and creative arranging. She is comfortable in many genres including Celtic, Western Swing, Bluegrass and Jazz. Hailey has received the 2016 Academy of Western Artist Young Artist of the Year, and is the 2015 Western Music Association Crescendo Rising Star and Youth Harmony winner (with Kristyn Harris and Leah Sawyer). She has won numerous Celtic fiddling competitions and is a former champion Irish Step Dancer. She's also an accomplished equestrienne.

ABOVE: Kristyn auditions for American Idol!

A few words from Kristyn about her experience on American Idol:

"American Idol was an unforgettable experience... definitely a different world. It threw me into such a concentrated immersion of musical variety, reality television, and growth. Extremely high levels of stress, emotion, and adrenaline. It's not an everyday opportunity to be on national TV in that way and so I'm grateful for that career boost, in addition to the related press that has come with it. But, even without that cool experience, I'd still be out here doing this music!"
