A killer ceili band! —IrishPhiladelphia.com
The Pride of New York is a new Irish-American super group comprised of some of the best known players on this side of the Atlantic. Between them, they have won four All-Ireland championship awards, recorded multiple solo albums, and logged countless miles touring across the US and abroad. But, at its essence, this quartet of singular talents is defined in spirit by the city of New York which gives the group its name. "We are all quintessential New York musicians," explains fiddler Brian Conway of his playing partners Billy McComiskey on button accordion, Joanie Madden on flute and whistle, and Brendan Dolan on keyboards, "The musical camaraderie we share is rare." —from Dirty Linen's newsfeed
"If you like your music straight up traditional and you think of sections of Brooklyn and the Bronx as westernmost Irish counties, then you will truly enjoy Pride of New York. ...this new CD brings to life the essence of what it means to be Irish in America." —hearthmusic.com
NEWS FLASH! December 21, 2011: Billy McComiskey is The Irish Echo's trad artist of 2011! Bandmates Brian Conway and Joanie Madden have also been honored with this title in past years, and Pride of New York's self-titled CD was The Irish Echo's top trad recording for 2009.

York's own Irish Blessing has performed extensively in the PA-MD-NJ-NY area for the past several years, sharing with their audiences the finest and purest forms of traditional music and dance. The four members of the Srour family make up this versatile group, led by parents James (flute, low whistle and bodhran) and Cushla (keyboard, flute, whistles). Their two sons, Jonathon (flute and flying feet) and Joshua (fiddle and flying feet) have both achieved World Championship level status with their dance. Jonathon, who ranked fifth in the world in 2005, has toured twice with Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance. Jonathon and Joshua have performed with Eileen Ivers and with Cherish the Ladies.
