"Rory Block is one of the greatest living acoustic blues artists... she can hold her own with the legends who inspired her." — Blues Revue

Heralded as "a living landmark" (Berkeley Express), "a national treasure" (Guitar Extra), and "one of the greatest living acoustic blues artists" (Blues Revue), Rory Block has committed her life and her career to preserving the Delta blues tradition and bringing it to life for 21st century audiences around the world. A traditionalist and an innovator at the same time, she wields a fiery and haunting guitar and vocal style that redefines the boundaries of acoustic blues and folk.

Shane Speal

Shane Speal is "The King of the Cigar Box Guitar," a blues rock songwriter who plays a primitive guitar made from an empty cigar box and a stick. He is also the leader of the modern Cigar Box Guitar Revolution, a growing fanbase of cigar box guitar builders and players who are dominating blues stages worldwide. The York Daily Record says: "The best way to describe [Speal's music] is to take blues and gospel and country and Hawaiian and ragtime and put it through a meat grinder that's missing some teeth."

Host Joe Ulrich brought Shane and his instruments into the WITF-FM studios recently. Check out the story and videos at WITF.org: “Shane Speal, Cigar Box King”
