Tony Trischka

Tony Trischka has inspired a whole generation of bluegrass and acoustic musicians, challenging what we believe about the banjo.

Trischka is the champion of The American Instrument. While keeping it rooted in the traditional bluegrass that first inspired him, he also explores all the possibilities suggested by the banjo's African origins and global wanderings. With a boundless musical imagination and zest for experimentation, Trischka has made a career of redefining what the banjo means in American music.

Tony's band includes Mike Barnett on fiddle, Jared Engel on bass, and Dominick Leslie on mandolin.
